Rogomme (TM)
The "RogommeTM"
is an excellent dessert wine. This style of wine has been
produced on the Causse of Quercy for more than 300 years. It
was known by the English rulers of the past as the 'black
wine' and for very good reason.
It is almost ink black in colour
with a thick, velvety, sticky concentration both in appearance and
taste. The grapes have been heated in the pots that are used in
the prune production, so there is a sweet prune like flavour to
the wine. The malbec gives the wine a strong, spiced chocolate
and quite tannic nature - but this all adds to the intrigue of the
wine. It is aged 18 months in French oak barrels.
